Leneta Fay Nielsen Walk July 18, 1939 — September 3, 2022 Grantsville
Leneta Fay Nielsen Walk passed away peacefully in her home on September 3rd, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a gracious friend. She was known to most as “Ma” and truly was another mother to many. Leneta loved life and she lived a long and beautiful one.
Leneta was born in Duchesne, Utah on July 18th, 1939 to Mark and Amy Nielsen. She was the eldest of 9 children. She later relocated to Grantsville, Utah and had 4 children: Donny Morgan, Kevin Hackford, Karen Walter and Justin (Marci) Benson. In 1976, Leneta married the love of her life Bill Walk and gained his 4 children as her own: Arnie Walk, Mitch Walk, Melody (Glade) Rupp, and Tracy (Tammi) Walk. Leneta and Bill combined their family as one and enjoyed 43 years of a wonderful marriage together. He was her “honey” and whole entire world. They were the literal definition of “true love”.
Leneta enjoyed camping, hunting, horse-riding, and playing cards with her family and many friends. She thrived in customer service and had many jobs as a waitress. She loved waiting tables and the friendships and meeting of numerous people from all over that it would bring.
Leneta managed the Dead Dog Saloon in Grantsville for over 20 years. With this, she gained many friends that she claimed as family. Leneta loved with her whole heart and her home was a 2nd home for many. She loved to entertain with her big parties and barbecues. She was an amazing cook and created the most delicious meals with enough food to feed an army. She loved antiques. Her home was adorned with many unique trinkets. Leneta prided herself in her yard work and had a gorgeous yard to show it along with a thriving garden. She adored hummingbirds. They knew there would always be a feeder full of sugar water for them to drink. You would be visited by many sitting in her yard. Now, the presence of hummingbirds will always be a reminder that she is near and not too far away.
Leneta left this earthy place and was welcomed into the sky above with a joyous reunion of her sons (Donny & Kevin), her parents (Mark & Amy), her siblings (Clay, Mark, Kent, & Robert), her grandsons (Jamie & little Donny) and her sweetheart Bill Walk. She is survived by all of her remaining children, her siblings, a number of nieces and nephews, and many many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
At this time, the family would like to thank Harmony Hospice and all of their compassionate care in the end days of Leneta’s life. We are very grateful for the grace and kindness they have shown. We would like to give our utmost respect and gratitude for their time, especially to her aid Barbara.
A memorial service will be held in Leneta’s honor on Thursday September 8th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Old First Ward Meetinghouse, 297 W Clark St in Grantsville, Utah. Interment to follow at the Grantsville City Cemetery

She was a wonderful woman and wonderful neighbor up south willow. She was my first friend here and as a new mom she soothed my worry and told me to trust my gut. Her and Bill saved the day many times up there. I will never forget either of them. Rest In Peace you amazing lady.

Sorry to hear this, Leneta was a Dear friend, one of my favorite people in the World. She loved Bill, her children & her family fiercely. Beside being her hairdresser for many years we had a lot in common & had lots of fun adventures shopping, yardsaling, decorating or just lazing around her gorgeous Cabin..she was beautiful inside & out, loving, giving, a joy to be around... Rest in Paradise Beautiful Lady 🙏❤️🙏
