Robert Craig Pitt II
July 7, 1978 — November 11, 2025
Grantsville

Robert Pitt, 47, of Erda, Utah passed away suddenly on November 11, 2025 of a massive heart attack. He was born in Tooele, Utah on July 7, 1978 to Craig and Doelene Pitt of Grantsville, Utah where he grew up.

He graduated in 1997 from Tooele High School where he was involved in the FFA and High School Rodeo Club. He worked at Tonioli Meats butchering, and cutting meat while in school.

On July 5, 1997 he married Brookes DeVore. They made their home in Erda. Together they had three children, Cody, Lance, and Reagan. He continued cutting meat at Albertson’s, Macey’s and Tooele Valley Meats. He also sheared sheep all over Utah and Nevada. He was very involved in every aspect of the sheep industry from breeding to lambing, doctoring and hauling.

In 2009, he established CLR Trucking and began hauling livestock. So much time was spent building up connections that resulted in many friendships. He loved his ‘trucking family’ and everyone he hauled for and made sure he kept in contact, resulting in him always being on the phone, deep in conversation about anything and everything.

Robert was always buying and selling sheep. He was a regular at the auction, which was where his last moments were spent buying one last load of sheep.

Robert displayed an infectious work ethic and was a role model that many aspired to duplicate. This can be seen in his children. He took a lot of pride in helping the youth in 4H and FFA learn the fundamentals of raising, trimming and showing sheep. He was truly an asset to livestock shows across Utah and Nevada. His proudest accomplishment was producing the Grand Champion lamb at the Salt Lake County Stockshow.

Robert was one of a kind, an amazing person always offering to lend a hand. Anyone who knew him, knew his straightforward personality.

Robert is survived by his wife of 28 years, Brookes; children Cody (McKell), Lance and Reagan; grandchildren Graysen and Brecken. He is also survived by his mother Doelene; sisters Heidi Warr (Jason Marquitte), Elizabeth Pitt (Jereme Rice), Emily (Michael) Cantone, Holly (Christopher) Courtney; mother-in-law Susan DeVore; brother-in-law Michael (Julia) DeVore, Boo DeVore (Angie Hill) and many nieces and nephews. Robert was proceeded in death by his father Craig Pitt, father-in-law Lynn Devore and best friend Cody Wrathall.

A viewing will be held at the Apple Chapel 415 West Apple St., Grantsville, UT on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 from 6-8 pm and funeral services will be held Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 11 am with a viewing from 10-11. internment will be at the Grantsville City Cemetery following the services.

Robert came to our house in Erda every spring and sheared Amberlys sheep (a 4-h'r) so the sheep would be ready to show at the Tooele County Fair. He was always kind and polite.

Robert was not just my brother—he was my friend. I married into the family by marrying his sister Holly and was welcomed into the business of raising sheep. According to Robert I became the Pitt Family Peruvian. He could always make us laugh and make the kids cry as he tormented them but they always came back for more because they loved uncle Robert. Im going to miss us just hanging out at your moms and laughing, joking and telling stories. Im going to miss all the days sorting, moving and shearing sheep. I’m going to miss Roberts witty personality. Robert, I’ll never forget those long afternoons we spent building fence and moving sheep together or cleaning barns, trimming feet and stacking hay. You always had a way of making everyone smile and laugh. I often catch myself thinking back to those talks, the way your voice would lift when you were excited, or that sly smile that always let me know you were about to drop some bit of wisdom disguised as a joke. You had this incredible way of bringing people together. It was the way you made everyone feel like they belonged. You didn’t care about status or accomplishments—you saw people for who they really were, and you loved them anyway. That’s what made you so special. That’s what made you you. I am so grateful to have had you in my life, to have shared this journey with you. You taught me the importance of family, not just in words but in the way you lived every single day. There wasn’t a time when I couldn’t count on you, whether it was for something as small as a late-night phone call or as big as life’s most difficult challenges. You were always there, no questions asked. It’s hard to imagine moving forward without you, to think of a world where your voice is no longer on the other end of the line or your laughter no longer fills the room during family gatherings. The truth is, you were the glue that held so much of our family together, and while we will continue on—because you would expect nothing less—we will never stop missing you. But I promise you this: I will carry you with me. I will carry your love, your generosity, your kindness in my heart for the rest of my days. You may not be here physically, but you will always be a part of me. I will honor you by living the way you lived, with compassion, with humor, and with an open heart. Thank you, my Brother, for everything. I hope you know just how much you meant to me. How much you still mean to me. Until we meet again, I will carry your spirit with me, always. Audios my Brother

Brooke’s and Family, Our hearts have been absolutely broken with the passing of Robert. He was one of our families dearest friends. Pitt has always been the greatest in supporting and helping our family, he was always offering help, showing up to help us get the work done, hauling our cows and sheep, and supporting our kids when they showed lambs. Half Circle Cross Ranch and MP Sheep Company will forever miss Pitt. He was truly one of the greatest guys. Much love and hugs to your family. Colby, McKenzie, McCoy and McKayson Pace
