Gary Ray Aagard returned to his heavenly home on December 12, 2024. Gary was born to Lloyd Niels Aagard and Erma Rosequist Aagard on September 30, 1935, in Fountain Green, Utah. Gary spent his childhood living a great life with his parents, brother Ross, and sisters Pat and Sherrie. He was a true cowboy herding cows with his grandfather in Levan, Utah.

Gary Married Betty Darlene Dunstone and had four children, Debbie, Kathy, Ted and Wendy. They were later divorced. Gary married Paula Workman and welcomed her three children Kim, Mark, and Trudie. Gary loved his family and supported them in every way he could.

BYU football and basketball were his favorite sports to watch. He loved rodeo, cowboy life, chocolate chip cookies, ice cream, McDonald’s cheeseburgers and diet Dr. Pepper.

Gary was a hard worker and made many longtime friends working at Kennecott where he worked for 30 years as an acid plant operator. He worked for multiple ranchers in Grantsville fixing fences and herding cows and sheep.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved the great outdoors. He loved riding horses, four-wheelers and spending time camping with his family at Gilbert Meadows in the High Uintah mountains.

Gary was preceded in death by his wife Paula, by parents, brother Ross, son Mark, grandchildren, Kristie Anderson, JJ Russell and Michael Madrid.

Gary is survived by his children: Debbie Privett (Curtis) Centerville, Ut, Kathy Burton (Randy) Mesquite, NV, Ted (Kenna) Grantsville, UT, Wendy Dimick (Cory) Erda, UT, Kim Russell (Breck) Grantsville, UT, Trudie Peterson (Kyle) Heber City, UT 17 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, sisters Pat Richins, Payson, Ut and Sherrie Jorgensen (Glenn) West Valley City, UT.

Funeral services will be held on December 18, 2024, at the Stake Center located at 550E Durfee Street in Grantsville. A viewing will be held at 11 am prior to the funeral beginning at 12 pm. Interment will be at the Grantsville City cemetery.

The Aagard family appreciates the loving care from the employees at Diamond Janes and Rocky Mountain Care Facility.
