Parry Henseler

Life & Legacy
Parry Francis Henseler our beloved father, brother, uncle, son, and friend passed away July 2, 2020.

Parry was born December 29, 1973 in Pinckneyville, IL. He completed the Henseler family as the youngest of four children.

From an early age he had a love for anything mechanical and learned a lot about engines and machines from his dad. He would tell stories of taking apart his mom’s sewing machine just so he could learn how it worked and how to put it back together. This love led him to his career of machining in his adult life. He was very proud of his work and has worked in the machining industry for over 20 years. Most recently he worked at Marathon, formerly Tesoro, refinery where he had 12 years of service.

Soon after graduating high school he moved from IL to live in UT with his siblings. In Utah he met Sharma Grover and together they had two children and also a step daughter who he called his own. His “Critters”, Ryelee and Conner,  were the love of his life. Parry was an easy going, soft spoken, reasonable, patient, and kind man who would do anything for anyone. We are very proud of the man he was. He was most happy working in his garage, teaching Ryelee and Conner his trade, tinkering in his yard with the quails nearby, eating at Virg’s, and most importantly taking trips with his Critters especially to the Palisades and to see his family.

Parry is preceded in death by his mom, Betty Henseler, who was his first love, his nephew Jarron, and many loving aunts and uncles. He is survived by his children Ryelee and Conner Henseler, Stepdaughter Angi Grover (Devan Harris), Dad Francis Henseler, Sister Kathy (Doug) Giacoletto, Sister Sheila (Roshan) Bhojwani, Brother Glenn (Lisa) Henseler, and many nieces and nephews.

Along with all the other things we have mentioned we will always remember his incredible work ethic, and the passion he had for his trade, his faith, and his children. He strived to be the very best dad he could be and in our eyes he succeeded. We “lava” you always and forever dad. Until we meet again.

Due to current circumstances a small service will be held in UT in the near future and also in Pinckneyville, IL at a later date.

Parry was one of the first persons that I met when I started working at the refinery. While this was the first place we worked at together we had worked at several of the same places over the years and knew the same people. As many have said he had a great work ethic and was willing to help anyone with nothing needed in return. He loved the skills that he had and loved teaching others. It is sad that he was taken so early in life. He will be missed!

Growing up with Glenn I had many opportunities to be in the Henseler home. Whether spending the night as a youngun or helping farm later I always found it to be a wonderful home. Parry was too young to hang out with us cool older kids. Just kidding he could chase mice in the old house and play in the creek with the best of us! What a great family! So sorry Glenn love you bro!

I moved to Utah in March of 2019 to start work at the refinery. I shared a tiny office with Parry and in the year or so that we worked together, I got to know him pretty well. He made us both coffee every morning, and it was the highlight of my day to be able to just hang out for a couple minutes in the morning just drinking coffee and chatting. He was a diligent worker, and always was willing to go out of his way to help someone, even if it never got recognized, and believe me, he helped a LOT of people without obligation or recognition. He was fun to be around, always joking, pranking, and laughing. He spoke very fondly of Rylee and Connor, always lighting up when talking about their most recent camping adventure. Parrys motivations to be a good father, co-worker, and friend were undoubtedly motivated by his love of Jesus. He was Christlike servant to the people around him, and was a standup guy. Ill miss you Parry.

I first met Parry when he was a teenager and remember when he graduated from high school. I also remember how protective he was of his big sister Kathy. I got the opportunity to see him again last summer when he, Ryelee and Conner were visiting Kathy and Doug. He grew into a very good man who will be sorely missed. God Speed Parry. Rest in peace.

I am so sorry to hear this about Parry. I have worked with Parry at the refinery for many years. He was my right hand man and always did so much to help me. There was nothing that he couldn't machine. I will miss him and Marathon Petroleum will miss his knowledge and dedication. Thank you Parry for your friendship. God bless your family.

I have worked with Parry for many years here at the refinery. As mentioned before, he was always willing to help you out with anything you needed. When there was a problem that was not easily resolved he loved to re-engineer it and was very quiet when it the problem was fixed. He never worried about getting a gold star and the end of a day. He had a great sense of humor and was able to make you smile when times were stressed. I will miss him and his abilities a great deal. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
