Grantsville, Utah - Our loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all, Helene Rae Montgomery passed away peacefully January 4, 2021 at home.  She was born in Ferndale, California on May 8, 1935 to Mark and Bethel Bugbee. She married her sweetheart William H. Montgomery and would have celebrated 68 wonderful years together this May.  Bill and Helene were sealed together in the Oakland Temple on May 2, 1981. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Helene accepted and was actively involved in various church callings throughout her life.  Helene always had an optimistic outlook, she would listen to and encourage all with positive thoughts.  She was
willing to help and serve anyone in need.  Her sweet smile and compassion were felt by family, friends and all those that knew her.  Helene’s quick wit, sense of humor, and practical jokes brought smiles and left us with many fond memories. You could bring a smile to her face with a Hershey chocolate bar and Coca Cola. Any evening out would require a stop at Taco Bell.

Helene is survived by her loving husband William H. Montgomery, her son Jeff Montgomery, her brother Norman (Rita) Lowes, her grandchildren John (Emily) Montgomery, Carolynn (Ryan) Hale, Kayla (Kurt) Berejkoff, and Collin Montgomery and thirteen great grandchildren.

Helene was preceded in death by her parents Mark and Bethel Bugbee, her son Timothy Montgomery, and her father and mother in-law John and Vivian Montgomery.

On January 8, 2021 a viewing and celebration of life will be held at the Grantsville West Stake Center, 117 Cherry Street, Grantsville, Utah from12:00pm to 1:00pm.  All are welcome to attend an interment at 1:30pm at the Grantsville Cemetery, 370 West Main Street.

Helene was always a lady! She was always kind and patient and a joy to be with. We enjoyed serving together in Relief Society and we enjoyed our get-togethers with friends and as couples. Our friendship with Helene and Bill spans nearly 40 years! Helene will be missed but will always be loved!

When I was a teenager one of my best friends was Helene's oldest son Jeff. I would visit their home in Camino California and always be so impressed with Helene's graciousness and kindness. Her house was so clean and organized and she took so much interest in her sons and their friends. She was so saintly. I send my deepest sympathies to the amazing Montgomery Family. We love you and know that Father in Heaven's plan for our eternal progress will keep us all connected.
