Scott Schofield

Life & Legacy
Our loving dad, brother, uncle and friend, Scott Schofield, completed his mortal time here on earth returning to Heavenly Father on December 27th, 2017. Scott was born July 2nd, 1971 to Colleen Thomas Schofield in Tooele Utah. Scott was one of a kind and made instant friends with his contagious smile and witty sense of humor.

Scott graduated from Grantsville High School with the class of 1989 and made many lifelong friendships while there. Scott loved cheering for the Utes, playing basketball, 4-wheeling and being outdoors. He was employed by Mellor Engineering as an environmental technician and owned Scott’s Detailing which made hundreds of cars shine.

The greatest honor of Scott’s life was being Colton and Mckenzie's dad. They were his pride and joy. Anyone who knew Scott knew of his deep love for them, he lived for the moments spent with his kids. He loved Heavenly Father and was very devoted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served in many different callings in the different Wards he attended over the years.

Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Colleen Thomas Schofield and his Grandmother Hope (Jolly) Hale. He is survived by his 2 children, son Colton Scott and daughter Mckenzie Jane, his sisters Sheri (Hank) Thompson, Vicki (Joe Higley) Powell and Jim Thomas (Brother) along with many nieces and nephews.

There are many who will miss his smile, wit and laughter. Scott will leave this earth a little dimmer, heaven a little brighter.

There will be a viewing from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 4th, 2018 at the Tooele South Stake Center, 1025 Southwest Dr. Tooele, Utah. There will also be a viewing from 9:30 – 10:30 am on Friday, the 5th of January 2018, with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 am in the same building.  Interment will be in the Grantsville Cemetery, 370 W. Main St.

Scott, a great guy gone way way way too soon. I miss our conversations over your favorite breaded veal at Kowloon cafe, telling you to eat your vegetables that you never would eat. I miss all those silly stories and your goofiness. I miss you telling me how tired you were and falling asleep and it was only 7pm! Although I didn't see you all the time, we became such great friends. I remember the first time we met years ago, I told you aBout Michael scofield from prison break and it took you a year to watch the series but you fell in love with the show. I miss you, I'm so so so sad and shocked at your passing. To your kids , I am so sorry for your loss. Your dad talked to me about you guys so much. Last time I saw him a few weeks ago, it was after he dropped off kenzies dog at humane society. He bragged bout you guys all the time, how colton was going to become a doctor and how kenzie was so independent getting her own apt in the city, working and going to school. I miss you Scott, But I guess God had bigger plans for you. Thank you for always being such a big dork and making me laugh. You still owe me a detail and a ride on your new four wheeler toy thingy!

Scott was a great friend! I loved seeing him in Jays when he came in while I was working we had many conversations about kids and life! No matter what he always had a smile on his face! His kids were his life! He loved them more than anything else in this world he would tell me how proud he was of them! I only knew him in passing but made a big impact on my life by his kindness and smile! I wish the family can feel his love for each and every one! My love to you all! Amber

A person couldn't help but smile when Scott was around and more likely, bursting out laughing was soon to follow. His witty sense of humor was contagious and I will always appreciate the honor of knowing Scott. God bless his family and wish them peace of heart when remembering him.

Scott was always one of my favorite guys from high school. He was kind, accepting and always loving towards everyone. We were able to reconnect a few years ago when we ran into each other at the park on the 4th of July. He was still the same loving, accepting person that I remembered. Scott was one of the good guys. I will love and miss him always. Rest in peace Scotty. Thank you for being that person who just loved everyone.

Our hearts are so heavy. Although we are thankful for the time we had with you, we can't help but think about all the things we had planned to do. We had more games to watch, rides to take and memories to make. We love you big Scotty!
