LaRue Hale Soelberg Brown passed away August 20, 2018, surrounded by many family members who had the opportunity to say goodbye during her final days. Mom was born November 16, 1930 to Frank Judd Hale and Mary Perthenia Imlay. She was the youngest of five children. She grew up in Grantsville, Utah and married LeRoy Soelberg, Jr., her high school sweetheart, on June 10, 1949 in theSalt Lake LDS Temple. They are the parents of eight children, Jean (Paul) Didericksen, Carol (David) Jefferies, Scott (Shelly) Soelberg, Jay (Julee) Soelberg, Laurie (David) Green, Kaye (Jim) Stice, Lisa (Mark) Droubay, and Mark (Allie) Soelberg. Mom and Dad were the owners of the Jr. Mart and later built Soelberg's Thriftway, where they happily served the community of Grantsville for many years. Dad passed away June 25, 1987. Later, Mom married Vern Brown and they served two full-time missions for the LDS Church in New York and Australia. Mom worked faithfully in every organization of the church. Serving as Stake Relief Society President of the Grantsville West Stake was one of her choicest experiences. She had a close friendship with those who served on her board and much was accomplished during her leadership. She was well known for giving inspiring lessons and motivating talks. Mom was creative in all aspects of her life. She was a skilled baker, and she made many delicious meals for our family which she generously shared with friends and neighbors. Mom was a talented seamstress, and she created beautiful costumes, prom dresses, and attire for special occasions. Music was prevalent in our home and even though our mother never had a piano lesson, she composed and wrote lyrics to several songs and she could play them beautifully. She loved watching her children and grandchildren perform at countless programs and recitals. One of Mom's greatest gifts was writing. She penned many artistic pieces about her life experiences. Her writing achievements included an article that was published several times in various books and newspapers, about a Christmas morning when the family grocery business caught fire. Mom paid tribute to the many people in our community who came to help our family clean up the damage and get the store ready for business the next day. She was blessed with many talents and she used them to help and encourage others. She was always thinking of ways to make people happy. Mom had the ability to lift others in such a way that would change their lives forever. She lived a remarkable life. At the time of her death she had 34 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She dearly loved her posterity and left a legacy of wonderful memories through her close association with them. We will be forever grateful for our angel mother and for her strong testimony of the gospel which will continue to motivate, guide, and inspire us. It is our desire to honor her life by serving others and by strengthening our families as we follow her example. A viewing will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the chapel on 115 East Cherry Street, in Grantsville, Utah. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Grantsville City Cemetery immediately following the services. Our family would like to extend a special thank you to the Brown Family for their love and support. We would like to thank Jay R. with Didericksen Memorial for his sensitivity and kindness. We appreciate those at Highland Glen and Brighton Hospice for the expert care that was given to our mother during the last weeks of her life.

Dad's youngest Sister, someone who always treated our family with kindness and grace, we didn't get to go to Grantsville to often, I blame my mother for that, I miss my cousins and the hospitality the Larue always showed us. I was unable to get to the funeral but Jenny was able to go. I miss you all and always will.

Dearest Soelberg Family,The viewing and funeral today was so beautiful! It was so special to see all of you and be reminded of your dear parents, especially your mama, as this was her day to be remembered! She truly is an Elect Lady, and I am certain our Saviour warmly welcomed her home! I am certain your father was there to greet her! I have always had very special memories of both your mom and dad and so grateful that the Lord guided my parents to Grantsville so many years ago! The friendship and love the Swensons have for the Soelbergs will never die! You are indeed an inspiration and an example of the love of Christ and the gospel at work! God bless you, my friends! Dear Grandma,I love you and miss you. I remember the wonderful children's book you gave me one Christmas, "You are Special." I still remember your love as you looked into my eyes and asked me to read it every night. I took that advice to heart. And although some nights I didn't read it, the book has never left my bedside. Thank you for always showing me that I was special and loved for just being me. You've truly blessed my life for the better and have taught me the power of love and charity. Thanks for your spirit which never truly leaves our sides. I love you.Love,RACHEL
