In Loving Memory Of

Haynie Family

Life & Legacy
Alejandra Haynie, Alexis Haynie, Matthew Haynie, and Milan Haynie of Grantsville Utah passed away January 17, 2020.

Alejandra Haynie was raised in Chihuahua, Mexico on May 8, 1967. She was a loving mother to her children and loved to prepare delicious meals and desserts. She also loved to garden and care for her fruit trees. She was always willing to help out and serve people in the ward and the community.

Alexis was born in Bountiful, Utah on September 18, 2004. She was a freshman at Grantsville High School and was the goalie on the High School Girls’ Junior Varsity Soccer team. Alexis was an accomplished artist and loved to play the piano. Other interests included The Lord of The Rings and playing with her siblings and friends.

Matthew Haynie was born in Bountiful, Utah on October 21, 2005. He was in the 8th grade at Excelsior Junior High and was well liked by his teachers and peers. He enjoyed playing soccer, wrestling, playing chess and anything to do with Star Wars and gaining the “high ground”.

Milan Haynie was born in Bountiful Utah on April 5, 2007. She was in the 7th Grade at Excelsior Junior High. She wanted to be an engineer, enjoyed playing soccer, volleyball and creating art with her sister, taking a specialized interest in super heroes.  She liked to leave loving and encouraging notes signed “from so and so”.

They are survived by their father and husband Colin Haynie, and brothers and sons Danny Haynie and CJ Haynie. Their family has called Grantsville their home since 2010.

I had the pleasure of interacting with Alexis and CJ at GHS as well as their mother. It definitely is a shock to hear of this event, but I have found peace and comfort in the words that were said and the hymns that were sung at the funeral. Thank you all for your examples of faith and perseverance! My greatest sympathies go out to those family members remaining. I can't imagine the heartache you are experiencing and will continue to experience. May the peace that only the Lord can give cary you through.

Someone Who Cares
Dearest Haynie Family:I don't know you and I have nothing to offer you but my deepest condolences. I will not pretend to understand why or how something so tragic could happen to you, but as always, I will trust in God to show that His love is still greater than any sorrows this world bestows on it's inhabitants. I pray that you eventually find true peace and forgiveness in your hearts and I pray that CJ finds redemption. Keep the faith. You are loved.

Colin/Danny, When you guys 1st moved into Grantsville. You two would come do visiting teaching at our home. I got to know little Alexis while she was a sunbeam in my primary class. She would insist on sitting on my lap. I got to know your wife/mothers sweet spirit while I was in primary. Thank you for touching our lives even for the short time while we lived closer. I am going to leave you with a LINKIN Park song and can only hope it brings you some comfort in this time of need. Should've stayed, were there signs, I ignored? Can I help you, not to hurt, anymore? We saw brilliance, when the world, was asleepThere are things that we can have, but can't keepIf they sayWho cares if one more light goes out?In a sky of a million starsIt flickers, flickersWho cares when someone's time runs out?If a moment is all we areWe're quicker, quickerWho cares if one more light goes out?Well I doThe reminders pull the floor from your feetIn the kitchen, one more chair than you need ohAnd you're angry, and you should be, it's not fairJust 'cause you can't see it, doesn't mean it, isn't thereIf they sayWho cares if one more light goes out?In a sky of a million starsIt flickers, flickersWho cares when someone's time runs out?If a moment is all we areWe're quicker, quickerWho cares if one more light goes out?Well I doWho cares if one more light goes out?In a sky of a million starsIt flickers, flickersWho cares when someone's time runs out?If a moment is all we areWe're quicker, quickerWho cares if one more light goes out?Well I doWell I do the Tonioli family.
