Larry Robert Halladay May 17, 1959 — October 23, 2024 Grantsville
Larry R. Halladay, age 65, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024, at his home in Grantsville, Utah, after several years of health challenges. Larry was born on May 17, 1959, to Robert J. (Bob) and Arlene Johnson Halladay in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from Grantsville High School in 1977 and then served a two-year mission in England, where he met many new and interesting people. He later graduated from Utah State University with a bachelor's degree in 1990.
Larry married Evon Reeder Halladay on October 9, 1993, and they shared 31 happy years together. Over the years, he worked in various fields, including as a flagger for road construction, a substitute teacher, at Hills Brothers Chemical, and as a security guard at the Salt Lake International Airport for 12 years. He was an avid fisherman and took every opportunity to fish whenever he could. He enjoyed playing tennis in his younger years and was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan.
He is survived by his wife, Evon; their dog, Mia; and siblings Patty, Bobbi Jo, Bonnie, Arlene, Roxann, Eldon, and Tonya, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and cherished lifelong friends. Larry will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Arlene Halladay, as well as his grandparents, uncles, and aunts.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Active Care, Onsite Caregivers, and the doctors who supported him throughout his illness. Special thanks are also extended to the Grantsville 10th Ward for their kindness and support during Larry's passing.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., with a visitation from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Grantsville 10th Ward Chapel, 81 North Church Street, Grantsville, Utah.

Larry and I were roommates at USU. I considered him a good friend and associate. Outside of USU, we went fishing together and even tried Dove hunting a few times.
Given Larry was from Grantsville and I was from Vernon, we had a Tooele County bond.
I thought the world of him and was sad to hear of his passing. I hadn’t seen him for a number of years.
Take care, my fishing buddy until we cast together again. 🎣

Larry we grew up together. Went on fun family vacations together. Chased Butch around and spend hundreds of hours at the drug store with your Dad. So long for now my quiet friend.

I worked with Larry at the airport. He was a good friend. I could always count on him for a friendly smile and some good conversations. TSA was a very stressful place to work. I could always count on Larry to be a light there. I’m so sad to hear that he’s gone. He will always be remembered. Blessings and prayers for you and your family, Evon.
