Rick "Rickie" Fawson

Rick “Rickie” DeLoy Fawson, age 68, passed away peacefully on Monday, July, 27, 2020 at Salt Lake Regional Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. He was born on April, 8, 1952, in Tooele, UT, to DeLoy Fawson and Joyce Butler. Rick served in the Army for two years, in Germany. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and staying at White Rock, he was quite the athlete too. Rick lived a simple yet complex life with PTSD. The VA helped keep him on stable ground for the past 10-12 years. He also had a special bond with his sister, JoAnn.

Rick married Lorri Deem, in 1974, together they had four boys, Chad, Dustin, Riley and Eric Fawson. They later divorced. Rick met Melinda Criplean, together they had a daughter, Heather.

Rick is survived by his father, DeLoy, children, Dustin (Ammy) Fawson, Riley (Jana) Fawson, Heather Murphy, brothers, Craig (DeDee) Fawson, Robert “Buzz”, sisters, JoAnn (Kevin) Burnett, Susan (Jim) Goodrich, DeAnn (Bruce) Catmull, Lacy (Ben) Hardman, Shantel (David) Sullivan, Tina (Hudson) Allguer, MaryAnn Herden. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Rick is preceded in death by his mother, Joyce, children, Chad (Melissa) Fawson and Eric Fawson, Grandparents, Nina and Lyman Fawson, Bill and Evelyn Butler.

Rick was loved by many and will be deeply missed. As a military veteran, he will have military honors, his ashes will be interred at Grantsville City Cemetery, 370 W Main St. Grantsville, UT, 84029 on August 8, 2020 at 11AM, following a Celebration of Life at 463 S. Trejo Ridge Rd. Grantsville, UT, 84029. All are welcome to join us in reminiscing, sharing memories of our son, brother, uncle and cousin.
