Dear George, Beverly, your children, grandchildren, Annalene Brown and Masako Nelson,My prayers and heartfelt condolences are sent over the internet as you go through tomorrow and the days and weeks as you say goodbye to George, known to myself as Uncle George! He was the second, younger brother to my Mom, Dorothy (Dottie)Stein. He will be missed by all! I have many memories of my parents being sure to include a visit every summer to Uncle George and Aunt Chiyoko when you, George, and Donald were young and living in Missouri. Mom always talked about all three of her brothers. My dad and he always enjoyed their beer and fishing storieswhen we visited. Sadly, after you all moved to Utah, we did not see your family as we all led lives in different states. Mom made sure she would stay in touch by phone and Christmas cards. It has beenvery special these last few days talking to you George over the phoneand reconnecting over your Dad's life and learning about the wonderful family he has had!Idid visit your Dad and Aunt Chiyoko in Tooele in 1980 (with a boyfriend) and on the day we came, May 18, 1980 the volcano Mount Saint Helen's in Washington State blew up so we were able to see the images on TV at your Dad's house. Uncle George and Aunt Chiyoko were very kind and welcomed us to stay overnight (we were on a road trip as I had lost my job in Vail the weekend I had gone to Grandpa Brown's funeral in Missouri at the end of April, 1980). I remember that visit as both your parents treated us sograciously even for such an unexpected visit by his niece, Dianeand her boyfriend from Colorado.Uncle George was a good and caring man and wanted what was best for his family and I believe he did that all these years. He was also strong of heart as he had to experience the loss of your beloved Mom, Aunt Chiyoko; the tragic loss of his youngest son, your brother Donald; the months he prayed and asked for God's help for you, George after your serious mining accident as you recovered, and then the loss of his second wife, Jeanette. Uncle George is at rest and I believe he is surrounded in heaven by his family who went before him, Aunt Chiyoko, Donald,Jeanette, Grandma and Grandpa Brown, Uncle Donald, my mom Dorothy and my dad, John, and just on Dec. 14,Uncle Eddie. They are all sharing stories around a heavenly tablejust as you and your families will tomorrow, Jan. 3, 2020and in theyears to come!Uncle George was a great story teller!Sincerely and with love, your cousin, Diane Stein
