Life & Legacy
Dennis Aaron McBride
June 10, 1944 — April 27, 2024
Grantsville
Dennis Aaron McBride passed away peacefully at home with Loralee by his side on April 27, 2024, after a short battle with cancer. Dennis was born on June 10, 1944 to Aaron Edward McBride and Erma Wildon McBride. Dennis led a magnificent life. As a young child he would fly with the Edde brothers around Grantsville waving to his Mom and Dad from the airplane window. The Edde brothers owned and operated the only airport in Grantsville, which Dennis later would come to own. Like his Dad, Dennis had a love for classic cars and started collecting and restoring many over the years. Dennis worked for Tooele Army Depot and owned McBride Disposal for Tooele County and Wendover, and the infamous McBride Auto Wrecking in Grantsville. Dennis had been married twice in his life and between those marriages had 4 children: Niel, Shawn, Camille and Ryan. He has two sisters: Diane Vorwaller and Karen Taylor. Dennis started dating his life long friend Loralee Harris Garn in 2008 and they've been together ever since. He also gained a daughter (Angie Smith) son in-law (Dusty Smith) and grandson (Gage Smith). Dennis and Loralee loved to reminisce about the good ol' days, traveled many times to Puerto Vallarta, numerous car shows where great friends were made, and he loved taking his buddy Gage to car shows, the circus, the State Fair, and most importantly free popcorn Tuesdays at the movies. Dennis has had many, many friends over the years, but one in particular is Loren Sowle who started working for Dennis' dad Aaron at a young age. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, a stepmother Doris Smith McBride, and many friends that all left too soon. He will be deeply missed by many. And as a friend said "legends never die."
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at the church on 428 South Hale Street in Grantsville. Viewing will start at 10 a.m. with the funeral to follow. Interment will be at Grantsville City Cemetery.

I've been at a loss considering the passing of my friend Dennis. He and his dad Aaron were two of the first people I knew in Grantsville. Dennis was like a big brother with a lot of really cool toys. Some of my favorite times were spent up at the yard. So bummed out when that ended. Timeless memories but the legend will live on. Loralee, you and Loren were there for him. I'll miss him too.

Dennis was the first person I worked for, yes I may have been 10 or 12 but my dad pushed the dump out in wendover and Dennis hired me to pick up garbage on the fence line. It was my first paying job and he paid me like $20 an hour! We had so much fun and out there! Ryan and I grew up together, we were good friends! Lots of good times in the pool and hot tub! The wrecking yard was my happy place! I would build cars and get parts from Dennis and ask him how much? He would always say $5 or just say let me see it when you polish it up or get it running! I set his wrecking yard on fire once torching some parts off a car. We put it out quick, I ran to the house to tell him and he wasn’t even mad, he said be more careful next time. So many great memories with this guy and family. I love them all. Especially my Momma! I’m so sorry. If there’s anything I can do please let me know.
