It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Theresa Anna Mascarenas Martinez, on September 8, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Theresa was born on July 21, 1955 in Tooele, Utah, to Adelicio and Gloria Mascarenas. In 1972, Theresa married Edward Martinez and together they had 4 children. 

Theresa loved her job at the Tooele Army Depot, where she worked for many years, and made many friends who she loved. In October of 2021, Theresa retired, and filled her time by being with her children, her 13 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping, shopping, cheering on the Broncos and the Jazz, trying new recipes, sewing and crafting. Theresa was a beautiful person, inside and out. She was the matriarch of the family, and always made sure everyone felt loved. She was always serving those around her and made sure everyone was taken care of.

Theresa is survived by her husband, Edward Martinez, her children, Edward Rocky (Heidi), Randy (Janette), Rhonda (Chandra), and Michael (Jennie), her cherished grandchildren, her mother Gloria Mascarenas, her sister Elizabeth, brothers Gary (Tracy), Joe (Lorraine), Daniel (Shaunda), Andy, Jamie (Kim). 

She is preceded in death by her father, Adelicio Mascarenas, brothers Lawerence, Curtis, Deno and Adelicio Jr. 

Theresa will always be remembered for her gentle nature, her loving heart and her dedication and unwavering love to her family. She will be deeply missed.

Services for Theresa will be held on Thursday September 19th, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Marguerites Catholic Church in Tooele, with a viewing at 10:00 AM.
