James Edward Frese December 18, 1941 — September 16, 2022 Tooele
James Edward Frese, age 80, died peacefully alongside his wife at Rocky Mountain Care - Willow Springs in Tooele UT on September 16, 2022.
James was born December 18, 1941 in Junction City, Kansas to Emerson and Ina Frese where they lived in Alta Vista, Kansas. He graduated High School as a Valedictorian in 1960. Then graduated with a B.S. degree in Mathematics & Physics from Kansas State University. He was drafted into the U.S. Army around 1964. After attending boot camp, he was recognized as a “Soldier of the cycle”. He retired after 32 years from West Desert Test Center at Dugway Proving Ground, UT.
James is survived by his wife Rebecca Vasquez Frese, Daughter Margarita Maggie Pearson (Joe Hansen), Son In Law Glynn Pearson, 4 grandchildren Natasha Frese, Mikel Frese, Justice Pearson, and Aiden Wilder, His 7 siblings; Norman (Carol) Frese, Arlene (Gary) Fredli, Vicki (Larry) Nolder, John (Jill) Frese, Larry (Dawn) Frese, Dan (Donna) Frese, Lori (Richard) Mcdiffett. Then preceded in death by his son Louis Frese, great grandson Jadon Frese, parents Emerson & Ina Frese, and parent in laws Luis & Margarita Vasquez.
Besides spending time with friends and family James had a passion for hiking, watching sports (especially The Jazz, and K-State), snowshoeing, skiing, and running, he was an active member of Wasatch Mountain Club. James had a contagious smile and when he did talk it was either something very educational or funny.
Family and friends are invited to attend a condolences meeting @ 9:30AM then the mass will follow at Saint Marguerite Catholic Church (15 s 7th st Tooele Ut 84074) on October 1, 2022. Mass @10AM MST, lunchen to follow next door. Final resting place will be in Alta Vista, Kansas.

I worked with Jim at Dugway. He was a programmer at Information Management. A very pleasant & quiet guy. He always had a smile on his face. I remember, when he wrote programs with the shortest pencils. I told him here’s a bigger one & he always turned me down. This one is fine he would say.
So sorry for your loss, he will be missed. Prayers to you and your family at this difficult time. May he Rest In Peace.
