Life & Legacy
Passed away in his home on March 16, 2020 surrounded by his family.

I, John W. White, was born Feb 19, 1938 in Hiawatha, Utah to Louis and Betty White.  I came to Tooele, Utah with my parents when I was 16 years old.  I met and married Rita Lewark when I was 18. We had 3 daughters, Debra (Earl) Crosby; Lori (Rick) Groves; and Mikki (Leon) McKenzie. I divorced Rita after 8 years.  Then, on Nov 1st, 1968, I married Lena Wilde. She had 3 daughters, Debra (Jim) Henwood); Lorrie (deceased); and Norma Warr.  These girls became more like my real daughters, more so than my real girls.  I worked at Tooele Army Depot for 30 years. After being retired only 1 year, I went to work for Tooele County Housing for 18 years before retiring. I am really proud of my grandchildren from my step daughters, Arthur (Dani) Peasnall; Lena Marie (Antonio) Mcotry; Ashley (Josue) Riches; and Shelice Warr.  Two great grandchildren, Creighton Patterson and Heaven Patterson.  They were always here when I needed them.

One brother survives, Claude (Myrna) White.

My wishes were to be cremated and have a graveside service at a later date.

Thanks to Jordan and Susan from Harmony Hospice for the care of John.

Im just reading this obituary now, and the comments. I would like to also agree with Debbie, my grandpa had the biggest heart and I know for a fact he loved all of his family equally. He had pictures of EVERY grandkid and great grandkid by his bed. Im so sorry to his side of the family for this obituary and the hurt it may have caused. Please know that anytime I asked my grandpa about his daughters and grandkids, he always had such kind words and high thoughts. As for Autumns post, there were reasons my grandpa didnt give any money, but those reasons are private and I dont feel they are to be shared with the world. It breaks my heart to see posts on here trying to tear others down, when this was a man who only knew how to lift others up. Ill always remember him as only kind. Even in his last days, he was the nicest person.

This is Kevan Roberts. Uncle John was an amazing man; he always had a smile on his face. Uncle John always treated me as one of his own children. I have a lot of treasured memories Uncle John provided; too many to list. I will miss Uncle John and I know he is in Heaven looking down on all of us. Uncle John loved everyone that was a part of his life.

Rest in peace. I had the privilege of knowing him when I lived in apt on 770 South. He was impressed with my yard and gave me a water key. He was always so helpful and nice. He was definitely a good guy. My condolences to all of his familym

I worked with John at the depot and he was such a great guy. He was funny and helpful and always had time for everyone around. I haven't seen him much since I left but will remember him with great fondness. John you will be missed.

I had the privilege of having the Whites as my neighbors on Harris street. I grew up a Ford guy because Johns red 79 Ford. I was in awe of this truck my whole childhood. John was a heck of a man. God bless the White family.

Well Lena and girls: I just want to say that my dad had a big heart, one large enough to love us all. My heart is broken. I would also like to mention that there were many family members on his side of the family that were not mentioned. I know my father loved us and we loved him.
