Vicente G. Montoya was born on January 22, 1938. At the age of 83 on January 26, 2021 he passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his wife and children. Born in Celaya, Gto. Mexico, he was the son of Luis Montoya and Andrea Gasca, both deceased.
He was a 3rd generation cobbler, taught by his mother and father. Vicente lived most of his life in Plainview, TX, where he ran his own business; El Vaquero Boot and Shoe repair. He was well- known and a pillar in the community due to his service and love of volunteer work.
He married Martha Luna on Oct 9, 1963. After having been taught the gospel by two young missionaries. Vicente joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1963, and were sealed in the Dallas, Texas Temple in April of 1986.
The most important thing in his life was his family. He would always boast about how many children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren he had. His other passions included reading and gardening.
Vicente will be greatly missed by his wife, Martha Montoya, children; Martha Calderon (Rodolfo), Juan V. Montoya (Valerie), Carlota Montoya (Francisco), Monica Budge (Jared- deceased), Claudia E. Krieser (Eric), Aida Sanchez (Cesar), Dina Montoya, Eduardo Montoya (Cecilia) and Roxana Johnson (Mark), 42 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Vicente Montoya, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
There will be a family viewing on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 417 Benson Rd., Stansbury Park, Ut followed by a Service.

Algo que siempre caracteriz a mi to fue su sentido del humor, cuando nos fueron a visitar a Las Vegas y se hospedaron en el hotel, muy por la maana me llamo Andrea que mi to se senta un poco mal, pues fui lo ms rpido que puede a verlo y al llegar el estaba de lo mejor, bromeando como si nada pasara y mi ta Martha regandolo que se pusiera serio y me dijera que le pasaba , pero el contento y feliz como una lombriz Y tambin en esa ocasin que da su mal paso en mi casa y no estoy hablando de que anduviera con las chicas malas que en realidad estn muy buenas Jajajaja Lo qu pas es que se nos tropez en la entrada con el escaln que no vio y moles que se cae y al querer asistirlo para levantarlo no nos dej, diciendo: no no no, djenme, estoy bien yo puedo solo Lo que me dejan de enseanza estas dos pequeas historias de mi to es: a la vida hay que enfrentarla con buen sentido del humor an en la enfermedad ya saben lo que dicen: La risa es el alimento del alma o la risa es la mejor medicina para el alma y no importa cuantas veces te caigas, Si no cuantas veces te levantas y sigues adelante y el todo esto siempre lo practico en la hermosa y plena vida que llev.
